Case Study: Transformation at The Natural History Museum
| On Aug14,2018Following on our Sustainability blog last week, it seemed like a good idea to show you what we can do to ensure a completely sustainable and green transformation.
Have you seen our ROARSOME transformation at The Natural History Museum?
Exhibit Group were delighted to be given the opportunity to work with the Natural History Museum to transform their Dino Store for the Summer Holidays.
How did this opportunity come about?
Back in April, Exhibit Group attended the VM and Display Show to promote the launch of Exhibit Retail. At the event, our cardboard chair was admired by many and it illustrated clearly the role which cardboard and sustainable materials have to play in the retail world. One of our cardboardeer visitors were the Natural History Museum. Their dream was to see a 42-metre pop-up shop be created in the grandeur and history all out of cardboard and recyclable materials.
So, what did we do?
Exhibit Group are a forward-thinking company who embrace new technology and concepts. We have worked with cardboard engineering for a few years now and are constantly seeking new ways to improve sustainability.
Through amazing cardboard engineering and team dedication, an interactive space was created. Exhibit Group completely fitted out the Dino Store in recyclable materials using no glue or nails. Even the shelves are made from cardboard; they have been printed and folded for strength. The edges of the units were covered in biodegradable vinyl to add stability and reinforcing the joints.
The recyclable materials really embrace the natural elements of the Natural History Museum allowing them to sell fantastic merchandise in an environment that showcases an amazing range of dinosaur specimens. The use of old and new has truly delivered a store of some spectacular effect.
The Finer Details
Exhibit Group have designed, build and installed the Dino Store project from start to finish. Our in-house teams have worked really hard to ensure the store really embraces the historical dinosaur period including the diplodocus, tyrannosaurus rex, volcano and trees from the era. Small details such as large cut out props, stone effect print patterns and original design have given the store a look of the Jurassic age.
Exhibit Group are confident that the new Dino Store décor will further enhance the experience for visitors of the museum after finishing their Dino adventure.
